Telescopic Boom Marine Crane

A telescopic offshore marine crane is a lifting equipment specially designed for offshore operations. Telescopic offshore marine cranes give you a more extended reach on board. Retracting the telescopic boom with an external telescopic gearbox makes it easier for you to store it on the deck of your vessel, creating more space on deck. Using YFM's telescopic boom marine crane allows you to work more efficiently without compromising the space of the offshore supply vessel.

Telescopic boom cranes are characterized by their retractable booms, which can be extended to higher heights, making them suitable for large ships and offshore platforms. They control the movement of the telescopic boom and the lifting boom through a hydraulic system, allowing the crane to adapt to different lifting operations.

The hydraulic pump delivers high-pressure hydraulic oil to the hydraulic cylinder through the pressure transmission device, and the operator opens the hydraulic valve by manipulating the controller so that the compressed hydraulic oil enters the telescopic boom hydraulic cylinder, thereby pushing the telescopic arm to expand or contract.

In addition, the telescopic offshore marine crane is also equipped with various safety devices, such as heavy-duty protection devices, anti-tipping devices, limiters, emergency shutdown devices, etc., to ensure its reliability and safety during operation.

Some modern devices also have a remote control function that allows the operator to operate from a safe distance, often via a wireless remote control.

Regarding technical parameters, the model, working radius, lifting capacity, lifting torque, slewing torque, base size, and weight of the telescopic offshore marine crane are all essential considerations. For example, some models can extend from 2.0 m to 16.0 m in working radii, 1 ton to 100 tons in lifting capacity, 148 km to 1920 km in lifting torque, 300 kNm to 2800 kNm in swing torque, and base size and weight vary from model to model.

The main structural features of the marine telescopic crane:

Boom: The boom is the main body of the crane and is usually made of a long piece of material that bears the weight and force of the lift.

Top drive: Top drive is one of the core components of the crane, which can quickly and efficiently complete the lifting operation by driving the hook up and down through hydraulic or electric motors. The top drive usually consists of a hydraulic cylinder and two reels that are used to lift the boom and hook.

Telescopic jib structure: The telescopic structure of the telescopic crane allows the crane to adjust the length according to the needs of the operation. The telescopic boom is controlled by a hydraulic system, which can be extended and contracted to accommodate different operating ranges.

Lifting winch: The lifting winch is installed on the main boom and is equipped with a hydraulic motor, reducer, brake, bearing seat, reel, frame, etc. When the brake is not in working condition, it is usually closed to ensure safety

Slewing ring: A slewing bearing is suitable for axial force, radial force, overturning moment, and other loads and can smoothly and reliably bear the above loads.

Slewing mechanism: The slewing mechanism is installed on the tower body and controls the crane's slewing speed.
 

Luffing cylinder: The luffing cylinder is a single-piston double-acting. As oil pressure increases, the piston rod moves back and forth, thereby controlling the boom's up-and-down movement.

Telescopic cylinder: The telescopic hydraulic cylinder, made of seamless steel tubes, has a double-acting piston rod and moves back and forth under oil pressure, controlling the movement of the boom parts to retract and extend.

Wire rope: The end of the wire rope is fixed to the drum with a splint, and hydraulic oil should be injected into the hydraulic system before use to prevent any damage.
