Used for light and medium-duty cranes/grab buckets/lifting hooks, etc, the wire rope pulley could be cast by gray cast iron HT15-33 and ductile iron QT-10;
Used for heavy-duty cranes/grab buckets/lifting hooks, etc, the material could be cast steel ZG25 or ZG35; and for big-diameter (D>800mm) pulley, it could be welded by carbon steel Q235-A.
Working Principle
The pulley mainly operates based on the principles of the lever and friction.
When a rope or chain passes around the pulley, the axis of the pulley is equivalent to the fulcrum of the lever, the pulling force of the rope serves as the driving force, and the gravity of the lifted or moved heavy object acts as the resistance.
By changing the direction of the force and the length of the force arm, the pulley can achieve the effects of saving force or changing the direction of the force.
At the same time, the frictional force between the pulley and the rope ensures the effective transmission of the force, enabling the heavy object to move in the expected direction and manner.
